What is a memorial book?
A memorial book makes a fitting tribute to the memory of a family member or friend. With your donation, library staff selects a book in the subject area of your choice. A bookplate inside the book will note the name of the person in whose memory the book has been given. This same information will also appear in the catalog record for that book. The library will also send an acknowledgment to the family.
What is an honor book?
An honor book is a wonderful way to celebrate and honor friends and family on a special occasion, such as a(n):
- Birthday
- Anniversary
- Engagement
- Job promotion
- Retirement
With your donation, library staff will select a book in the subject area of your choice. A bookplate inside the book will note your name, the name of the person in whose honor the book is being given, and the occasion being honored. This same information will also appear in the catalog record for that book. A card will also be sent to the honoree.
Staff can arrange for a reserve to be put on the book so that the honoree can be the first to read the honor book.
If you would like to purchase a memorial or honor book, visit your library for more information. You can also print the Gifts, Memorial, and Tributes Form, fill it out, & bring it to the library or mail it to us.
